With a unique repertoire from the greatest jazz composer/bandleader in history, Duke Ellington, Harmony In Harlem can provide an inspiring selection of music from the raw sounds of the jungle to vibrant foot-tapping swing, from the darkest lament to the lavishly romantic. The musical director, Michael Kilpatrick, has assembled an authentic repertoire evoking the Cotton Club days of Duke Ellington and his famous orchestra, featuring many rare composition as well as well-known Ellington classics. The orchestra has staged ambitious works such as the Ellington/Strayhorn suite "Such Sweet Thunder" ahead of the Shakespeare 400 celebrations, and The Nutcracker Suite, an Ellington/Strayhorn take on the Tchaivoksky Christmas favourite.

Harmony In Harlem can perform across Anglia, central England or the London area. The orchestra puts on regular concerts in Cambridge, Harlow and elsewhere in the East of England. Previous private engagements from dances for the Cambridge Lindy Hoppers to a private party at the request of a Lord Justice of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom.
