Material prior to 1940 features a line-up of 4 saxophones/clarinets, 3 trumpets and 3 trombones. Later material requires a line-up of 5 reeds, 3 trombones and either 3 or 4 trumpets. If necessary, the orchestra can perform as a 14-piece ensemble but with a limited selection from the repertoire.
